Ralf Schumacher reacted to Sauber`s choice of Bortoleto over Mick. Expert and former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher admitted that his nephew and Mercedes reserve driver Mick Schumacher will not return to the grid without force majeure.
Mick was considered a contender for the Sauber seat, but the Swiss invited Formula 2 leader Gabriel Bortoleto.

Schumacher praised Sauber for inviting a promising driver:
In my opinion, it is good that the team has chosen a new path with a young driver who won Formula 3 and is now leading in Formula 2. This is a level similar to what Oscar Piastri showed.
The driver needs to make a statement and not allow himself to make mistakes, like Max Verstappen did. It`s not easy in a team like Sauber, the car is very bad right now. There are rumors that a significant share of the team was sold to Qatar for economic reasons. This is one of the reasons why Bortoleto was ultimately chosen.
I think it`s a good combination of his young talent with the experienced Nico Hulkenberg.
