Watzke compared transfers to alcoholism
The executive director of Borussia Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke has distinguished himself from the Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness about the bombastic transfer amounts which are paid these days.
The `yellow-black` received the record in German football amount 105 million euros for its star Ousmane Dembele. With the bonuses included, the second most expensive player in history may cost Barcelona 150 million euros.
`I don`t understand the attempts to impose regulation of transfer amounts. As far as I know, during the prohibition-era, the greatest amount of alcohol was drunk.`, commented Watzke.
`Yes, the amounts are very high in my opinion as well. They are high, the market is extreme, but not amoral. In football, there is nothing immoral when talking about the transfer amounts. The strongest one wins and there is no way to impose rules from politicians.`, added Watzke
